Kundalini Yoga.

Yoga is an incredible practice that includes many different facets. There are a variety of different types of yoga that hold many different benefits. Yoga is a form of exercise that focuses not only on the body, but places a large amount of focus on the mind and spirit. It is important to find the kind of yoga that aligns with what you wish to gain in order for your practice to be as enjoyable as possible.

Kundalini Yoga, specifically, is a practice that is energizing and uplifting. It makes direct use of meditation, dynamic breathing and movement. The goal of Kundalini Yoga is to gain deep consciousness as well as physical vitality and wellbeing. Yoga, as you can read in previous articles, involves making use of the seven chakras that run through the body. Different facets of yoga may focus on different chakras and utilize them in various ways. Kundalini translates to the serpent power, which is a snake-like energy that is coiled at the base of your spine within your seventh chakra. Kundalini Yoga aims to allow this serpent energy to spread itself up and along the seven chakras in your body by being freed through specific movements and breathing techniques.

Kundalini Yoga & Will Power.

The Kundalini practice is designed to specifically target breaking bad habits and building a stronger sense of will power. Kundalini makes use of a series of mantras, asanas and mudras that are specifically repetitive. This sense of repetition is vital when it comes to mindfully breaking bad habits and addictions. Some very simple asanas or poses may need to be repeated for up to three minutes, which is when our minds may start to wonder and we may begin to feel bored. Repeating these practices despite wanting to move on to the next one is what makes Kundalini Yoga a perfect practice for regaining self control and will power. The practice teaches you to be mindful and intentional as opposed to merely working through the motions with an uninvolved conscious.
